BAMBI

Well I settled on my name. It’s Bambi. You might be wondering why? Or you might not. Anyway I’ve choosen Bambi not because Bambi is a nickname for a hot girl who in some way resembles bambi with long legs and big eyes and not because bambi is slang for marijuana in some parts of the U.S. but because Bambi is a soft sweet girl who appears shy but is really a wild forest creature on the inside – “Whoa, bambi’s kickin up her heels again! Watch out” or “Watch out Donny Bambi's comin home better get your rest now.”

Well it is wonders what a few days away from work, kids, husbands, bosses, whatever can do for six gals just looking to have a little fun. We had a great time against all odds, came home better friends than we left, have stories to keep to ourselves and ended up looking pretty darn good at the end of it all.

Hope the flight home doesn't take it all out of us.

Casa Nova

It seems that the days are taking on a new theme now with the nights being a bit later and the days a little slower and more relaxing. Tonight Debi said she wanted to go to a place called Casa Nova that she said she was some sort of diner theater house (casa) with dancing, costumes and exotic lights (nova?). Didn’t sound like much fun to me but I got my day so I supposed that I should go along. We took a ride down the lazy river by the pool today but it just wasn’t like I thought.

Well Casa Nova was not what I expected either. Apparently the advertisement was a little mixed up. They had exotic dancers, low lights and costumes like I have not seen in a long time. Those boys could really dance. Let me tell you we don’t have police officers like that in Anacortes and what they wouldn’t do for a few dollar bills. We all had a great time it was just a little bit of a let down heading back to the room with just the girls. Pretty sure now that the fun I had dancing with the girls had more to do with the wine than the girls. Whew.

Fiesta

Today was the day of the big weekly fiesta at the resort so we pretty much hung around the place today and relaxed by the pools. No one seemed to want to get going first thing in the morning. Guess last night was a little rough on some of the girls. That left me with plenty of time to think about things. Still a little concerned about how much I enjoyed dancing with the girls last night but they didn’t seem as attractive this morning so I am pretty sure it was the wine. Settled on the boss’s real name. It’s a long one so I suspect he has some Spanish ancestry in him. I am sure his name is “complete and total frigging ass hole”. That’s it and I can take a vote if necessary. Met a great new friend by the pool, cutest guy we've seen so far and has a nice tail.

The Fiesta was lots of fun. Tequila was the drink of choice tonight and it’s funny how some of those country songs are truer that you would like to think. We all had a great time and after we got everyone and everything rounded up we got ourselves back to our rooms in one piece so once again all is good.

Tomorrow is Debi's day so not sure what to expect but am looking forward to it anyway.

Amazon Queen

What a treat to have my very own day. Today my name was Amazon Queen, who knows or cares about tomorrow. It’s been tough doing whatever anyone else wants but I drove today and I drove em hard. I guess I like my vacation days just like I like my men, long and hard. Enough of that.

I sent Carol and Valora out early so I could sleep in until 11. Not sure where they went but when they came back they seemed satisfied and relaxed. We made up for the late start with plenty of activity for the rest of the day.

I had heard of an amusement park that was supposed to be close by so I had the girls make the trip. It was totally worth it with lots of great rides and everyone loved it, I’m sure.

Stopped at a great fast food place on the way back to the room and couldn’t believe it when they had chocolate covered fries. I never thought I would see my two favorite foods in one dish but here it was in the most unsuspecting place. It truly was my day.

Got back to the resort and gave the girls 30 minutes to rest and enjoy the sun before we headed back out for some wine and dancing.

The wine bar / disco / hacienda we found was great. The wine was good (and cheap) and the music didn’t hurt your ears. The only men that were around were older, boring and shitty dancers. There are enough of those in Anacortes so we all just drank and danced together. Is it wrong that I had such a good time dancing with women? I don’t think so, I think it was the wine.

We left the wine bar / disco / hacienda around 1:00 am, picked up some more wine on the way home and watched back episodes of The Amazing Race with Spanish over voices until about 3:00 am.

What a perfect day.

V D

Well Valora is feeling better today so we did what she wanted all day. She wanted to experience some culture so we went to what was supposed to be a nice local church. It was on the way to the fancy restaurant she recommended which was quite a ways out of town. The church didn’t quite match up to some of the ones we’ve seen in other travel blogs. Maybe we shouldn’t have made so much fun of them? We did get to light a candle and say a prayer (much needed to forgive our sins from the trip) and the gift shop didn’t take much time so all is good.

Our next stop was Marks restaurant. Well it wasn’t quite like we thought but in retrospect we probably shouldn’t have listened to someone named Mark who suggested a restaurant named Mark. I guess there are some clues in the names our parents give us.

Speaking of names. We learned a little about Sharon today at the pool. Apparently she came by her name quite honestly. Quite a diver. Attracted lots of attention. Hope we can meet back up with some of our new friends at the Fiesta on Thursday.

Well at least we survived VD - Valora’s day and don’t have to do anything else she wants to do for the rest of the week. Tomorrow is my day!

What a view

Well apparently Valora didn't get the memo and must have drank the water. She was up most of the night using the restroom which wouldn't have been a problem except for the door. We were forced to hear (and smell) most of what was going on. Needless to say we didn't sleep much either. Well at least the view from the balcony at night is just black as opposed to the beautiful view of the golf course (construction) that we have during the day.

Had lots of time to think about what peoples real names are and have narrow down my bosses name to either shit head or jack ass. I'll keep contemplating that to come up with a final by the end of the week. Lots of fun thinking of other peoples names but haven't narrowed them down yet.

Did have a nice stay on the beach today and am hoping Valora feels a bit better tomorrow so we can go out to diner. The report is she was told of a great place nearby that we should all enjoy.

Hoping for a better nights rest and more fun tomorrow.

Day Won

The first day of our trip. Getting through the airport can be a bit taxing but it sure is fun watching all the people. I just love it when everyone has to take their shoes off. Really seems to be an equalizer. Takes those fancy bitches with their high heels down a notch.

Our group certainly is an interesting one. Really looking forward to learning a bit more about everyone on the trip. On the flight down there was lots of time to think since I was sitting next to a boring man. Thought I left all my boring men behind in Anacortes. Well I guess they are everywhere. Anyway lots of time to think and for some reason I wondered what my real name is. Not the one my Mom and Dad gave me but what is my real name. Didn’t decide on the flight but will have something to think about on the beach.

The Mayan Place is just wonderful. The grounds are spectacular, the pools inviting and our rooms are spacious. I am a bit concerned about the bathroom situation with a door that isn’t as solid as I would like. Guess we will get to know each other better than I thought.

We got here without many troubles but the trip from the airport to the resort wasn’t exactly what we expected. Oh well, when in Mexico.

Kinda wish we were in Rome.

Oh it might not be as much fun with Carole on the back?

Looking forward to a good nights sleep and relaxing on the beach tomorrow.
